                                        MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN SOMEONE’S LIFE

Hilton Head Island Safe Harbour is seeking some ordinary people, with extraordinary compassion and dedication, who would enjoy helping their neighbors and perhaps making new friends in the process. Join the crew of Safe Harbour volunteers who make our organization so successful in serving its members.

We need volunteers of all ages and from all communities on Hilton Head Island and nearby Bluffton neighborhoods. We have a variety of volunteer placements to suit different interests, skills, talents, and schedules. Whether you have direct contact with members, or assist behind the scenes in some capacity, you are enhancing the work of Safe Harbour and thus strengthening our island community.

If you would enjoy helping others on our beautiful island, usually in your own neighborhood, and have some free time available during the week or occasionally on a weekend, then Safe Harbour’s volunteer activity will probably be a good fit for you. Please join us as a volunteer and contribute toward making our mission successful.

Safe Harbour makes volunteering EASY! Once you become a volunteer, you are in control of when, where and how you volunteer. Safe Harbour does not assign members to volunteers nor volunteers to members. Volunteers get to choose the day of the week, time of day, and the member assignment as their schedule allows. The schedule of member trips/assignments are listed on our website weekly and volunteers, at their leisure and using their password, can sign up to help anytime. Safe Harbour offers services to our members Monday thru Friday, no weekends.

   People of all ages are invited to volunteer. Volunteers will choose the services they can and want to provide. For the safety and security of our members and volunteers, and for our insurance, we require a South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) background check for all volunteers. For this, we will need Social Security and driver license numbers and date of birth. This information will be secured and disposed of properly.
